I have been listening to videos of challenges as part of the Big Picture Festival at www.bigpictureclasses.com
I have been so inspired to love my creative time, create without rules, have fun, be in the moment, let go of what other people think. I tried something new yesterday, I made my first clothesline fabric wrapped project. I bought it at the Quilt Expo in Madison last weekend. It is a trivet that fits the bottom of a glass pie dish. I got it from www.vogies.com. It was exciting doing something new, it isn't perfect but its unique.
Today I spent the afternoon with my Cameo Silhouette making the "Autumn This and That" tray designed by Keri Bradford.www.Kerribradford.com I love her stuff and how cool it goes together. You can interchange the boxes using the same & Gypsies tray. Well those are my projects for now, I have a few more in the works>
Fall Is full of new beginnings, I now have two children at college and  highschooler at home. It is a little lonely. My job at a local quilt store dissolved over the summer due to a sale of the store, it was a disappointing turn of events.
But I am now waiting for direction from God on what to do next. I have started a bible study, "Discovering Joy in your creativity" by Margaret Feinburg. It has given me a fresh perspective on my creative nature. I have also been reading "You,re Already Amazing" by Holley Gerth, I highly recommend it! I don't always feel amazing, but I am.

So I started to do many of the things I didn't have time to do before. I ripped down the old daisy rainbow border in a bedroom, I went through closets, I trimmed bushes, convinced my husband to start on a basement project. I have also made time to craft! Yes I have the same time as everyone else I am now choosing to create and finish projects. I started with an stack of blocks from a 2 day quilting class I took in 2006. I never finished, the blocks didn't size up big enough and I was criticized for choosing" inferior fabric " not bought at a quilt store. So the project sat in the basement. Last week I just wanted to sew, not think, so I thought I will get that out. I forgot not all the blocks were complete, but I started sewing. It was fun and I could see how far I had come in my skill since then. here is a picture of the completed top a little funny size but ready to quilt. The pattern is" Minuet" by Monique Dillard.

I have worked to complete more projects this week. the pincushion is from "Summer Gatherings" by primitive gatherings. Table penny rug is "Fall Harvest" by Karyn Lord of Wool and Whimsy.

Itty Bitty cow bells

Project of the day was making little cow bell necklaces. My son plays football and our high school is big on ringing cow bells during football games. Some of the varsity Moms have little necklaces and I thought I can make some for the Sophmore Moms.
1. I painted 19x25mm cowbells I got at Hobby Lobby. I chose rustoleum spray paint, first I stuffed paper in the bell so it would be above the cardboard so that the edge would be painted but not the inside. I took a few coats covering all sides.
2.I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut white vinyl letters and numbers.n School letters on front and jersey # on back. I used the Freshman font from Da font at 24pt.
I am so excited to wear my new necklace to games. I plan to get a long ball chain and I am using a large jump ring at the top to allow the bell to lay flat. These could be adapted to different schools and would be great to add to pins or corsages too. I just think having the whole team in a little box is so cute. When my son came home he saw them by the computer and said "These are so cool, wheres my number" Oh and they actually ring too!!!

Before ,I think it was pink but there was a lot of smoke stain
Finished shelf in my basement sewing room, now what to put in it?

during layers of paint removal then layers of stain blocking paint before the final white coat. Love the curved legs though.
Really wanted to share some of the projects I have been doing in the last few months some great junk redos. First s a shelf which I bought for $5 then, I stripped and painted with my husbands help. I liked how it turned out.

Yesterday was My daughters graduation party so now I can do something else besides get ready for it. I am so proud of all her accomplishments! I now need to start marketing my new pincushion patterns. They are already for sale at Quilters General Store in Rockford, Il.( 815-397-5160) I have started my own label! I am now the designer for Sewnifty Quilt Co. I am selling patterns for both pincushions. One includes the spring and hexagon papers for the large pincushion. and the other pattern contains the zinc jar lid and hexagon papers for the smaller version. It is exciting to have sold several during a recent bus trip at the store!
